Singapore Tourism Board: Explore Singapore for Free With SingapoRewards
For short-term visitors to Singapore, aka tourists, there is a new programme that will allow you to explore “off-the-beaten” paths for free: SingapoRewards. Officially launched by the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) last March 7, the initiative allows tourists to choose from one of the 40 new ways to see the Lion City.
This is the full global launch of the programme, having been piloted for six months from October 2022 to March 2023 among Australian, Indian, and Indonesian visitors. Now, it’s available to everyone and offers a different view of Singapore, including experiences that you wouldn’t see in usual itineraries.
There are themed tours where you can bike your way through historically relevant areas in Singapore, a Feng Shui basics rundown while walking, a naturalist night-time voyage into Sentosa, and so much more.
If you’re one to explore a new place through its food culture, fret not. Tiger and Brass Lion Gin, two renowned Singapore alcohol makers, will walk you through their distilleries. Hawker walk is also available, letting you experience first-hand a central part of Singaporean life and identity: eating reasonably priced, but internationally recognised, hawker food.
For a truly left-field way of experiencing Singapore, try any of these: a diffuser workshop where you can smell local aromas and create a unique scent using any of the 120 essential oils sourced from Sentosa, food cooking class with a focus on traditional Chinese medicine, and a water spin class.
STB CEO Keith Tan hopes that these unique ways to explore Singapore will better the experience of visitors and allow local businesses to try something new. "By focusing on innovative experiences, SingapoRewards also provides a platform for local businesses to launch and test new products and offerings," he said.
