Zoe Gabriel, of C&K’s ‘Luxury’ Debacle, Featured on Its Woman’s Day Spread

Zoe Gabriel, the content creator who got bashed for the innocent non-error of not knowing Charles & Keith is not a high-end brand, is featured on the fashion label’s Instagram spread dedicated for the International Women’s Day.

Wearing a grey turtleneck dress and knee-high boots, Zoe is holding C&K’s Alia clutch, one of their best-selling handbag styles. The lilac palette is a one-off version of the bag, and is meant to commemorate Women’s Day. More than that, though, 20% of all the proceeds from Alia sales will go to United Nations’ “Storytelling for Gender Equality” programme.

In the second panel, Zoe likened womanhood to flowers and no metaphor was more perfect. “We are like fields of poppy and lakes of lotus – diverse and bold in our differences, beautiful in our own ways,” she said.

The Singapore-based Filipina content creator made the rounds on social media when her dad got her a black C&K tote and she harmlessly mistaken the brand as luxury. In hindsight, the hate she received from pompous non-entities is nothing compared to what she got in return: affirmation from the public that she should not feel bad for getting a nice bag, and landing the role of C&K’s community brand ambassador.

@zohtaco

thank you dad
