The Warehouse Hotel

The Oasia Hotel Downtown is really, really hard to miss. Enveloped in what can only be described as a red mesh and rife in vegetation, it wouldn’t look out of place in “The Last of Us” as an old and rusting building recaptured by nature. The rooftop isn’t even a rooftop, it’s an infinity pool with an overlooking view so amazing that you’ll find yourself returning to this same spot every year.

M Social Hotel Singapore, one of many, is almost workaday in its appearance. Encapsulated by condominiums and other hotels, it’s easy to look past this building. Four-star in everything but exteriors, here’s a hotel that is worthy of at least one city staycation session.

Capella Singapore

Capella’s outpost in Singapore is quite unbelievable in its beauty. The structure itself is like the number 8, but cut in half. There’s also some history baked in the buildings as they were former Tanah Merah colonial bungalows. It will be hard to think anything else other than “am I in paradise” during your stay in the hotel. It’s also in the thick of a 30-acre greenery in Sentosa Island, and faces the South China Sea. A tropical paradise within touching distance of a first-class city. You don’t get that anywhere.

Stand in front of Wanderlust, and you’ll think you’re in a Wes Anderson film. It fits exactly in a 4:3 frame, and it wouldn’t be the worst idea to bring a colourful suit. As for the hotel itself, the rooms themselves are like serviced residences. As a result, you probably wouldn’t want to leave the comfort that you’ll most likely miss once you’re checked out.

Hotel Soloha

There’s a contrast in where Hotel Soloha is, and who it’s trying to attract. As heritage as heritage can be, the façade of the hotel is traditionally neoclassical, but inside, it’s like Keith Haring had a free hand on interior design. It’s all things post-contemporary; it can only be described as an amalgam of the concepts of urban, chic, surrealist, and Mediterranean. All your senses are activated when you’re here, and maybe, that’s the point.

Andaz Singapore

Andaz Singapore is as imposing as it is eye-catching. The shining black walls with honeycomb exteriors look futuristic, and in the interior, up to and including the amenities, rooms and public areas, is Asian luxury at its finest. This is one of those hotels that may probably end up in a version of the hotels you should book before you die.
