Singapore, as a first-world country, will never be short of amazing hotels. Your most traditional chains of five- and four-star accommodations are all in here, but as they say, “faint heart never won fair lady.” Some hotels, in their quest to lure in new customers, took what should be crazy ideas into reality.

These accommodations are worth the visit, and maybe even a regular stay. Some of them even incorporated ideas so wild that it can only be found here. And like some truly crazy ideas, these 10 hotels have to be seen to be believed.

The Warehouse Hotel

The most striking feature of The Warehouse Hotel is that…it wasn’t meant to be a facility for hospitality. It is in the name of the place itself. The understated design is an inside-out quality, with the exteriors painted bright white and the interiors Scandinavian in its elegant simplicity. Complete with duo for F&B establishments, you’ll find yourself cocooned in comfort in a stockroom turned architectural triumph.

Oasia Hotel Downtown

The Oasia Hotel Downtown is really, really hard to miss. Enveloped in what can only be described as a red mesh and rife in vegetation, it wouldn’t look out of place in “The Last of Us” as an old and rusting building recaptured by nature. The rooftop isn’t even a rooftop, it’s an infinity pool with an overlooking view so amazing that you’ll find yourself returning to this same spot every year.

M Social Hotel

M Social Hotel Singapore, one of many, is almost workaday in its appearance. Encapsulated by condominiums and other hotels, it’s easy to look past this building. It wouldn’t look wrong in the middle of a financial district, but its quirky interiors and loft-type rooms make this a standout choice. Four-star in everything but exteriors, here’s a hotel that is worthy of at least one city staycation session.

Capella Singapore

Capella’s outpost in Singapore is quite unbelievable in its beauty. The structure itself is like the number 8, but cut in half. There’s also some history baked in the buildings as they were former Tanah Merah colonial bungalows. It will be hard to think anything else other than “am I in paradise” during your stay in the hotel. It’s also in the thick of a 30-acre greenery in Sentosa Island, and faces the South China Sea. A tropical paradise within touching distance of a first-class city. You don’t get that anywhere.

The Fullerton Hotel

There is a certain building in Romania, something astoundingly massive, that reminds one when they see The Fullerton Hotel in Singapore. The neoclassical heritage-style architecture of the building lends much grandeur to this five-star hospitality. Any stay here is worth a thousand pictures and stories to anyone who asks. Even your tales will sound magnificent because you stayed at The Fullerton.

The Duxton Reserve

There are some things that just make you say, “WOW,” in all caps every time you see it. The Duxton Reserve Singapore is one of those hotels that is worthy of its place as one of the most beautiful tourist sanctums in Singapore. It wouldn’t be out of place in Lake Como beside grand Italian villas or around Paris as company to chateaus of France’s elites. If budget is not an issue, you have to stay in the Montgomery Suite, a near-perfect reflection of oriental hospitality.

Wanderlust

Stand in front of Wanderlust, and you’ll think you’re in a Wes Anderson film. It fits exactly in a 4:3 frame, and it wouldn’t be the worst idea to bring a colourful suit. As for the hotel itself, the rooms themselves are like serviced residences. As a result, you probably wouldn’t want to leave the comfort that you’ll most likely miss once you’re checked out.

PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering

Vertical gardens were all the rage in this part of the world when Hong Kong and Singapore started applying the concept, and the PARKROYAL Pickering is something that did it and then overdid it with the integration of vegetation on a building. And it’s almost as if the structure is alive. It’s a sight to be seen and breathed in, as this amazing structure is most like a source of fresh oxygen.

Hotel Soloha

There’s a contrast in where Hotel Soloha is, and who it’s trying to attract. As heritage as heritage can be, the façade of the hotel is traditionally neoclassical, but inside, it’s like Keith Haring had a free hand on interior design. It’s all things post-contemporary; it can only be described as an amalgam of the concepts of urban, chic, surrealist, and Mediterranean. All your senses are activated when you’re here, and maybe, that’s the point.

Andaz Singapore

Andaz Singapore is as imposing as it is eye-catching. The shining black walls with honeycomb exteriors look futuristic, and in the interior, up to and including the amenities, rooms and public areas, is Asian luxury at its finest. This is one of those hotels that may probably end up in a version of the hotels you should book before you die.
