Foodies, let’s paint the town red!

The biggest food festival in the Lion City returns this 2022 to the sunny island where everyone is invited to wine and dine. The Singapore Food Festival (SFF) celebrates its 29th edition, showcasing the multicultural heritage and diverse Southeast Asian cuisine.



Started way back in 1994, the Singapore Food Festival was organised by the Singapore Tourism Board. Last year, the food festival went all out on a new hybrid format featuring virtual and in-person lineup of events.Attendees were able to meet renowned chefs and learn various recipes while virtual audience experienced kitchen insiders and tours to some of the city-state's best food neigbourhoods. Expect the week-long festival to be bursting with Malay, Indian, Chinese, and Peranakan dishes.

The Singapore Food Festival 2022 will take place from Aug. 24 to Sept. 11 at the Bayfront Event Space with the theme “Real Foodies Only.”

Virtual Masterclasses

Love acquiring new recipes? Enjoy free viewings on how to prepare your favourite dishes as local and international chefs reveal their “deepest kitchen secrets.” They will talk about food’s heritage, contemporary flavours, and tasty innovations.

The online registration for virtual masterclasses is ongoing! You can select the class session you prefer including the time and dates. Some of the classes you can sign up for are Otak-Otak Udang by Chef Daniel Sia, Tropical Konggaru Tart by Chef Maira Yeo and Chef Justin Lee, Angel hair “Bak Chor Mee” with Hokkaido Scallop and Caramelised Baby Squid by Chef Marvas Ng and Chef Russell Miso, and more.

To further learn about the food and beverage industry, the festival provides the Food Kit available at the virtual marketplace, which participants can use during the virtual classes.

Exclusive Menus

SFF 2022 collaborated with some of the best restaurants in the city-state to serve signature dishes for a limited time only. The following is a list of some of the restaurants that are participating in the event:

  • Steeples and Park Bench Deli’s Sunday Pop-up (Exclusive Menu)
  • Park Bench Deli’s Indian Fried Chicken Sandwich
  • Tanglin Cookhouse’s D24 Durian Croissant
  • Typhoon Café’s Milo Dinosaur Soufflé Stacker
  • Dopo Teatro’s Sambal Goreng Pizza
  •  Barossa Steak and Grill’s Beef Cheek Rendang
  • The Feather Blade’s Beef Rendang Slider
  • RAPPU’s Black Pepper Crab Roll

Fringe Events

From food sustainability to plant-based food offerings, some of the fringe events you can take part in during the SFF are Dempsey Block Party by Burnt Ends, Feed9Billion Singapore Restaurant Week, and Singapore Vegan Festival 2022. The vegan festival is slated for Aug. 26- Sept 4, which consists of B2B sessions, food tours, gourmet dining, panel discussions, and workshops.

Festival Village

After the two-year pandemic hiatus, the festival will hold on-site workshops for the first time, led by some of the most talented and renowned master chefs in the industry. Moreover, local vendors will fill your tummy with the best Singaporean creations at the Festival Village.

Other fun activities you can experience at SFF’s Festival Village are a foodie pop quiz, Carousel and Euroswing, Plant-Based Cheese & Gin Pairing Workshop, Fruit Route, Puzzle Picnic, Asia 101: A Mix of Hawker Food & Cultural Tour, HawkerWalk @ Old School Snacks, Eat Your Way Through Joo Chiat, and more.

Tickets for single entry cost S$15 every Monday to Friday and S$20 every Saturday and Sunday, while prices for group entry tickets range from S$50 (weekdays) to S$70 (weekends).
