1. Stand Up Comedy Special with Deepak Chandran

Need a dopamine boost? This weekend, Deepak Chandran, alongside five other comedians, will bring the funniest jokes on stage. This event is a perfect hangout idea with friends where you can laugh all night while gobbling your favourite bar snacks and drinks.

Tickets are non-refundable or exchangeable the day before the scheduled show. Attendees must be 18 years and above to be able to enter the venue.

2. ‘The Puppets Are Alright’ by The Finger Players

For adults who are fond of watching puppet shows, this weekend is also a celebration of puppetry as Singapore’s The Finger Players present “The Puppets Are Alright.”

The show will feature three handmade puppets crafted by The Makers’ Lab that will tell stories about familial ties and tensions between humans and non-humans. These stories include “The Bench” by Ellison Tan, “Parting” by Oliver Chong, and “My Father The AI Machine” by Chong Tze Chien. Each show will take about 120 minutes.

3. PLAYtime! at Esplanade

PLAYtime! is dedicated to children aged three to six who are into theatre. The production aims to develop children’s social and emotional well-being through a series of interactive performances that embrace a kid’s creativity, happiness, and anxieties.

The event also welcomes children with diverse needs, as the venue is wheelchair-friendly, accommodates special seating arrangement, and has priority lanes. Find out more here.

4. ‘Tabby McTat’

Live on stage are the meow-mazing casts of “Tabby McTat,” presented by KidsFest and produced by ABA Productions Singapore.

“Tabby McTat” tells the story of Fred, a busker cat who plays a guitar and adores his hat because it is where people throw coins while he performs. One day, Fred chased a thief, which led to him losing his beloved hat.

This musical adaptation is a purr-fect family treat this weekend as you’ll witness “a heart-warming tale of friendship and loyalty” combined with wonderful original songs and musical numbers. The show’s duration is approximately 55 minutes without intervals. It kicked off last Feb. 8 and will run until this Sunday.

5. Twilight Downtown 2023

Combine your love for food and music as the popular halal food and flea market – Twilight Downtown – is extended until this weekend. Aside from enjoying good food and music, the fair will also have shops for home, health, and beauty products.

The artists and buskers who will perform at the flea market include Haziq Azrudy, Ameerah Sallehudin, Sio Lubis, and more. Twilight at Downtown East in Pasir Ris is an event inspired by Australia’s hawker markets that aim to bring an all-in-one flea market in a laid-back picnic setting.

6. NATAS Travel Fair 2023 

It’s time to take your revenge travel as Singapore’s largest premier travel fair, The World of Natas, is happening this weekend. The 57th edition of the travel fair will be attended by over 50 exhibitors, including travel agents, cruise operators, hotel chains, and national tourist organisations, among others.

7. Artbox Singapore 2023

Starting this Friday, the famous pop-up creative market, Artbox Singapore, will be back after three years! It will fill the city-state with more than 300 stalls of creative dining options and artisanal crafts.

Guests will enjoy live music, score aesthetically beautiful décor, and try savoury culinary options during the event, which will take place on two consecutive weekends starting on Feb 24 until March 5. For ticketing terms and conditions, click here.

8. ‘Outlines’ by Aistė Stancikaitė

For fans of photography and fine art, don’t miss the last day of the Cuturi Gallery exhibit titled “Outlines” by Lithuanian artist Aistė Stancikaite.

This exhibition features a collection of figurative works that explore the themes of longing, desire, connection, intimacy, and vulnerability through paintings of mouths that depict various expressions, such as screaming, laughing, or smiling.

“In the Echo series, Stancikaitė examines the animalistic nature of our emotions, one of them being laughter; a sign of delight and happiness. On the contrary, it can also be a cry for help or hidden desperation. With this series, Stancikaitė intended to echo how a painting interacts with the audience based on their perspectives of what it conveys,” the release read.

9. Emi Fujita ‘Camomile Greatest Hits Singapore’ Concert

Known for her “sound therapy” vocals, Japanese singer Emi Fujita will be back in the Lion City this weekend for her “Camomile Greatest Hits Concert.”

Throughout her singing career, Emi successfully released eight albums, including covers of songs like “Fields of Gold” (Sting), “First of May” (Bee Gees) “Desperado” (Eagles), “All My Loving” (The Beatles) and “Longer” (Dan Fogelberg).
