As we count down the last days of the year, we cannot help but be nostalgic and think about the things that we’ve lost and gained, possessions that have served us well throughout the years. For those who love collecting or are collectors at heart, possessions are not just mere objects; possessions carry within them stories, each with its own lived history.

This December, Bonhams has planned a wide array of auctions suited for every type of collector, from fine books and manuscripts to modern decorative art and prints by famous artists, to name a new. Ready your wallets and check out these upcoming auctions at Bonhams!

Want the Lily Pad Lamp, circa 1900, from Tiffany Studios? You can get it for US$100,000 to US$150,000 at Bonhams when it hits the auction block on Dec. 14, 14:00 EST. The beautiful green lamp is made of favrile glass, patinated bronze, and is stamped with "Tiffany Studios New York 15-2-6) in its inside rim, as well as "Tiffany Studios New York 365" on the underside of its base. It stands at 25 3/4 inches tall, perfect for your bedside table or as a centrepiece of any nook.

Benjamin Franklin Letter

Ever wondered how much a signed letter by one of the founder fathers of the United States, Benjamin Franklin, would cost today? One of Franklin's letters, addressed to Benjamin Vaughan, about the terms of the peace agreement between the U.S. and Great Britain will be up for auction this Dec. 15 at 12:00 EST. The letter, dated July 11, 1782, is estimated to fetch around US$80,000 to US$120,000.

You'll love the Prints and Multiples auction happening on Dec. 16, 14:00 GMT, if you're a fan of the likes of David Hockney, Keith Haring, Yayoi Kusama, Pablo Picasso, and BANKSY (although any true BANKSY fan would know that the anti-establishment graffiti artist would not appreciate having any of their artworks sold for such a steep price at an auction!). You can set your sights on a Kusama piece instead: a print of "Pumpkin 2000" in red will only run you around £15,000 to £20,000.

Fancy a new, err, old car? The Bonhams MPH Auction is happening this Dec. 11 at 13:00 GMT. It's perfect for those who love their automobiles. One of the vintage cars up for auction is a 1967 Mercedes-Benz 300SE Cabriolet, a convertible that is considered as one of the ultimate symbols of luxury in the classic car world. This car is a U.S. specification car that is now fully registered in the United Kingdom. From the get-go, we've fallen in love with its gorgeous glossy black paintwork and red leather interior.

This fancy car is estimated to cost from £120,000 to £140,000.
