Disney Plus is taking the summer streaming season by storm with a sand-pail-full of family-friendly choices, old and new.

Bringing back your friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man with ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ so you can relive some of the series’ most devastating canon events – and looking ahead to the future with a heavy dose of ‘meta’ with ‘High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.’

Over the years, Disney and LEGO have come together to feature iconic characters from Marvel, Star Wars, and Frozen. The latest collaboration, ‘LEGO Disney Princess: The Castle Quest’ sees our royal five: Tiana, Moana, Snow White, Rapunzel, and Ariel, embark on a thrilling adventure after being mysteriously transported to a strange castle.

Before long, the princesses discover that selfish hunter Gaston is pulling the strings to conquer all of their respective kingdoms. With no time to lose, the princesses must find a way to work together and protect their homes – after all, what’s a princess got to do?

‘Cinderella’

What’s Coming to Disney Plus New TV Series and Movies Aug. 2023

Walt Disney’s ‘Cinderella’ was a key touchstone for the studio when it was first released in the 1950s and has since remained one of Disney’s most beloved classics. In 2005, the film underwent a controversial restoration that left fans with much to be desired. Twenty years later, the wrongs are righted with a 4K restoration, representing a faithful ‘Cinderella’ from how it appeared all those years ago.

‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’

After Miles Morales’ second appearance whipping across the Spiderverse, audiences are left to mull and reflect on all the major ‘canon events’ that have taken root in each and every spider persons’ origin stories.

Having left a deep impression amongst viewers, (especially after ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’), Andrew Garfield’s Peter Parker is a cutting drama of how one of this’ generations’ Spider-Men have loved, lost, and ultimately, learned.

‘The Wonder Years’

Set in the late 1960s, ‘The Wonder Years’ takes a look at the coming-of-age tale of 12-year-old Dean. Paired with the wisdom and hindsight of his adult years, Dean’s humorous recollections of what happened in his youth show how his vibrant family found their very own ‘wonder years’ during a turbulent time.

‘Star Wars: Ahsoka’

Following the success of ‘ANDOR’, ‘The Mandalorian’, and ‘The Book of Boba Fett’, Disney has decided to give one of Star Wars’ most iconic characters some well-deserved time in the limelight. For fans of ‘Star Wars Rebels’, the new Disney live-action will see to it that you can revisit the gritty and expansive world of Star Wars through the eyes of one of the most fearless Jedi imaginable.

‘High School Musical: The Musical: The Series’

The fourth season of American mockumentary musical ‘High School Musical: The Musical: The Series’, sees the East High drama club returning to school to perform a stage adaptation of the 2008 film, ‘High School Musical 3: Senior Year’.

With cast members of the original High School Musical set to appear in the fourth season, audiences can expect another 8-episode barrage of familiar settings, quips, and songs.
