Discover Phuket's Soi Romanee, One of the World's Most Stunning Streets
Soi Romanee in Phuket is a street steeped in both beauty and history, and it has recently been recognised by Southeast Asia news website Seasia.Stats as one of the world's most beautiful streets.
Ranking 19th, the street features Sino-Portuguese buildings and picture-perfect guest houses that attract tourists from all over the world. Visitors can also find souvenir and coffee shops where they can take a break or snap more photos. Lonely Planet notes that the street used to house brothels and gambling dens, some of which still stand today but have been left abandoned.
At night, the street comes alive with the illumination of Chinese lanterns, and during the Phuket Old Town Festival, music and activities add even more energy to the already vibrant atmosphere.
Aside from Soi Romanee, some of the streets that made it to the list topped by Livadia’s Symi Harbour are Lombard Street, San Francisco (16th), Champs de Mars, Paris (13th), Cherry Blossoms, Tokyo (10th), and Acorn Street, Boston (2nd).
