Malaysia to Plant 100 Million Trees Through ‘Mission GreenPossible’

The Malaysian government will plant 100 million trees by 2025 through the environmental programme “Mission GreenPossible.”

Launched in October 2022, the initiative aims to address the negative impacts of climate change like intense drought, typhoons, rising sea levels, and insect outbreaks.

As of December 2022, the government agency has planted 41 million trees including mangroves, bamboo, mangoes, and different forest trees.

Meanwhile, Touch ‘n Go has launched an e-wallet programme to fund the tree planting campaign.

For every donation, the agency will plant trees in strategic areas in Malaysia. The more donations, the more trees will be sowed in the country.

The minimum amount to donate is RM10. Donors are entitled to tax exemption as stated under Income Tax Act 1967.
