Thailand Takes Top Spot as World’s Most Searched Destination in Q1 2022
Following Thailand’s announcement on the easing of its travel and quarantine restrictions earlier this year, the country has been named as the “most searched destination in the world for trips in the next six months.”
According to the online travel booking platform Agoda, Thailand showed a 500% increase in search volume during the first quarter of 2022. Japan, the United States, and Singapore are the three countries with the highest number of searchers who wish to visit Thailand. Travelers from the United Kingdom, France, Switzerland, South Korea, Maldives, the Philippines, and Indonesia were also on the list.
The Thailand Pass and the Sandbox program were developed in collaboration with Agoda to ensure that travelers have access to an integrated booking process including essential travel requirements upon arrival in the country. This includes RT-PCR tests, airport transfer, and all-inclusive hotel packages for the unvaccinated.
