YouTube Forays to Gaming With 'Playables' Feature for Premium Users
You can now not only stream videos, music, and Shorts through YouTube, as the streaming app has soft-launched a new feature that lets its users play various games.
Called “Playables,” the new gaming feature has 37 online mini-games, which include classics such as “Angry Birds Showdown,” “Basketball FRVR,” “Color Burst,” “Daily Solitaire,” and “Daily Crossword.”
So far, “Playables” is only available for YouTube Premium subscribers. While no official announcement of the launch has been made, the app notified its Premium users that it was already available for players to enjoy on Nov. 25.
To access the feature, subscribers must first be logged in to their Premium accounts. Then, they can tap on the “You” tab and click on “Your Premium benefits.” A “Try experimental new features” button will appear, where they can find the “Play games on YouTube” prompt.
Users can then turn on the said feature, head over to their homepages, find the “Playables” menu on the “Explore” tab, and play the game they prefer!
The feature, however, will be available only until March 28 next year. There’s no news yet about whether it will also be rolled out to the public or not.
