Science Centre’s New Exhibition Envisions a Sustainable Energy Future for All
Science Centre Singapore (SCS) recently launched Energy Story, a new permanent exhibition that explores the sources, transformation, and uses of energy, from natural cycles to modern applications.
The exhibition was launched on Aug. 11, 2021, and was presented by SCS in conjunction with the Energy Market Authority (EMA) and SP Group, as per a press release by EMA on the same day. It is notably net-zero, meaning the energy consumption of the 400-square metre interactive space is balanced with an equivalent amount of green energy to offset the electricity used.
Energy Story aims to bring to light the role of clean energy in mapping a more sustainable Singapore, as well as encourage the public to adopt energy efficient practices.
“[W]e hope that guests from all walks of life will gain a better understanding of the importance of growing green energy and be inspired to play a part in the nation’s ‘energy reset’ movement,” said associate professor and Science Centre Board chief executive Lim Tit Meng.
Visitors can interact with models of different technologies and explore global, regional, and local energy data through the exhibition's six zones of multimedia displays and interactives. Energy Story is perfect for all ages and is aligned with the Ministry of Education's Science syllabus for lower secondary students
