Uncover a lost town and some hard truths in Pangdemonium’s latest world premiere, “Singapore, Michigan,” running from June 26 to July 11, 2025, at the Singapore Airlines Theatre, LASALLE College of the Arts.
In 1836, a town named Singapore was founded on the shores of Lake Michigan. By 1875, it was gone. What begins as a search for a mythical ghost town becomes a no-holds-barred journey of self-discovery, cultural identity, and survival, filled with TikTok-worthy chaos, late-night cravings, and existential questions.
Written by Ong Chong An under Pangdemonium’s New Works Lab and directed by Timothy Koh, “Singapore, Michigan” is a taut, darkly comic exploration of what it means to belong.
