Low-Pressure Cell to Bring Heavy Downpours in Thailand Until Thursday
The Thai Meteorological Department warned the public that a low-pressure cell is forecast to bring heavy downpours to Thailand until Thursday, Nov. 24.
According to the weather agency, the low-pressure cell will hit the southern coast of Vietnam before making its way to the gulf of Thailand on Tuesday, Nov. 22.
About 50 provinces will be hard-hit with rainfall including Ratchaburi, Ayutthaya, Trang, Samut Sakhon, Phetchaburi, Surat Thani, Kanchanaburi, Rayong, Phuket, Krabi, and Bangkok.
Meanwhile, Northeastern provinces such as Nakhon Ratchasima, Buri Ram, and Surin are forecast to experience heavy rainfall starting Wednesday, Nov. 23.
The department has advised residents living at mountain bases and near rivers to prepare beforehand as the rainfall may cause flash flooding across the country.
