Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health Proposes New COVID-19 ‘Green Zones’
Ministry of Public Health Permanent Secretary Dr. Kiattiphum Wongrajit talked with the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) regarding their plans to revise Thailand’s COVID-19 zoning.
The “green zones” will be added to the existing blue and yellow zones for tourism purposes. This new category imposes more lenient social distancing measures and possibly reopen some businesses, including night entertainment venues.
According to a report from the Bangkok Post, the proposed zoning will include “14 green zone provinces, 17 blue zone provinces, and 46 yellow zone provinces.” But the final decision remains on the CCSA.
