Known for its bold and colorful prints, Finnish lifestyle design company Marimekko is no stranger to making an impact. Following the opening of its pop-up café at Central Embassy, the brand has opened a new location, this time at The Emporium.

Marimekko Kafe showcases the aesthetic the brand is known for, with its iconic prints very much visible and sprucing up the space. Coinciding with Marimekko Thailand’s eighth anniversary, the opening of the café embodies the brand’s ethos of "Bringing Joy to Everyday Life."

Whether you’re a Marimekko fan or you’re simply on the lookout for a new place to hang out, here’s why the new Marimekko Kafe merits a visit:

1. The Interior Design Is Marimekko Perfection

Designed by concept designer Ploy Chariyaves, the café exudes inspiration and energy. While the overall design is minimalist, the prints on display, as well as those that are incorporated into the pillows and tableware, give it a lively touch.

2. Get Design Ideas on How You Can Improve Your Own Home

Thinking of revamping your dining nook or living area? The Marimekko Kafe can give you an idea or two about how you can mix and match your cushions and how to best showcase prints. The brand’s iconic ceramic collection, Oiva, is used in the café to level up the guests’ dining experience, too.

3. Relish Thai-Finnish Cuisine or Try a Different Coffee Brew

A café visit is more memorable when you have a menu that will keep you coming back so you can try the rest of the food offerings. Marimekko Kafe’s menu was curated by experts in the field: food consultant Utchima Sriprachya-anan, café owner Asama Vichaidit, and restaurateur Vasinee Ukkachartkul.

The menu highlights comfort foods prepared with essential ingredients, and you’re guaranteed to find an instant favorite. Some of the must-tries are the Crab Cake Salad Served with Curry Vinaigrette and the Onigiri with Thai-flavored meatball Skewers. For drinks, there’s an array of refreshments inspired by Scandinavian favorites and coffee drinks that represent the culture of Marimekko.

4. Shop at the Nearby Marimekko Store After Dining

Since the café is located right beside the Marimekko store, you can shop for clothes, bags, and home accessories. Talk about having a well-rounded Marimekko experience in just one day!

The Marimekko Café is open daily from 10 AM to 10 PM. For more information, log on to www.marimekko.co.th or follow them on Instagram.
