Thailand Records 8.6 Million Tourist Arrivals from January to April 2023

The recovery of tourism in Thailand is going strong since it opened its borders to international tourists and relaxed its COVID-19-related restrictions.

In a statistics provided by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, Thailand welcomed 8,596,452 international tourists from Jan. 1 to April 30, with spending over THB353 million.

The number of arrivals peaked last month with 2,130,715 international tourists. Among them, the following nations logged the most number of arrivals in Thailand:

  • Malaysia – 367,530
  • China – 328,375
  • India – 131,230
  • Russia – 115,743
  • South Korea – 95,229
  • Vietnam – 84,221
  • United States – 70,977
  • United Kingdom – 70,089
  • Lao People’s Democratic Republic (PDR) – 68,204
  • Hong Kong – 67,771
