Head to the Foreign Correspondents' Club of Thailand (FCCT) on Sept. 3 for "A Useful Ghost: The Development of Thai Film on the Global Stage," a special screening and conversation highlighting the evolution of Thai cinema.

The event features the critically acclaimed 2025 Thai film "A Useful Ghost," which tells the story of a mother’s spirit inhabiting a vacuum cleaner to protect her husband from a fatal respiratory disease. Praised for blending folklore with social realism, the film examines life, loss, and labour in post-industrial Thailand and has gained recognition at international film festivals.

Attendees will gain unique insights from Ratchapoom Boonbunchachoke, the film’s director, and Cattleya Paosrijaroen, producer from 185 Films, as they discuss the challenges and opportunities facing Thai filmmakers today, both domestically and globally. The conversation will explore how Thai cinema has developed over recent years and where it may be headed on the world stage.

Set at ICONSIAM, the “One Piece” Pop‑Up Café Thailand 2026 runs from Mar. 12 to Oct. 31, 2026, occupying the Attraction Hall on the 6th floor. The venue is fully transformed into a pirate‑themed environment inspired by the adventures and locations seen in “One Piece.”

Visitors can explore a range of immersive zones inspired by iconic islands, designed to bring the anime’s world to life through visual storytelling and interactive elements. The café also offers character‑inspired dishes and drinks, allowing guests to experience themed dining alongside the visual installations.

One of the main attractions is a stamp‑collecting activity spread across 10 different areas within the pop‑up. Completing the challenge may grant access to a limited‑edition premium reward, created specifically for the event and available only on‑site.
