The Bangkok Kunsthalle presents two special programs with acclaimed Italian curator Luca Lo Pinto this September, in collaboration with Istituto Italiano di Cultura, Bangkok and art4d.
On Thursday, Sept. 11, 2025, at 6 PM, Lo Pinto will deliver “From Display to Discourse: Expanding the Role of the Curator,” a public talk introduced by Dr. Maria Sica, director of the Istituto Italiano di Cultura. The presentation explores exhibition-making as more than a display of objects, but as a negotiation between agents such as architecture, sound, light, and human presence. The talk invites audiences to consider exhibitions as spaces of layered narratives and expanded sensory experience.
On Sunday, Sept. 14, 2025, from 10 AM to 6 PM, Lo Pinto will lead an intimate curatorial workshop for a maximum of 15 participants (advance registration required). The day-long session challenges the idea of institutions as neutral spaces, instead proposing them as dynamic platforms for inquiry, reflection, and artistic collaboration. Conducted in English, the workshop will encourage participants to rethink the boundaries of curatorial practice.
