Join the Foreign Correspondents’ Club of Thailand (FCCT) on Aug. 8, 2025, at 7 PM for the Bangkok premiere of "Paper Airplane," a film by director Moses Marks set amid the ongoing civil war in Myanmar.
Told through the eyes of Naw Mi, a young Karen girl forced to flee her home with her mother and brother, the film chronicles the family’s fight for survival in a jungle displacement camp. A simple paper airplane folded by Naw Mi becomes a symbol of fragile hope in a country gripped by violence.
The evening includes a screening of two more short films that expand on the narrative, followed by a live panel featuring Moses Marks, Sompong Srakaew of the Labor Rights Promotion Network, and other experts. Moderated by Phil Robertson of Asia Human Rights and Labour Advocates, the discussion will offer insights into the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Myanmar.
This is a must-attend event for journalists, advocates, and anyone interested in Southeast Asia’s socio-political landscape.
