Made In South Tokyo - Where Craft, Design, And Community Meet

Discover evolving practices of craft and creativity at MADE IN SOUTH TOKYO — Where Craft, Design, and Community Meet, running from Feb. 27 to Mar. 13 at URMU @ The Toffee, The Project Room (Level 4). The exhibition opens on Feb. 27 at 6 PM, with a special talk event on Mar. 6.

Rooted in the machikōba culture of the Kamata–Ōmori district—one of South Tokyo’s most concentrated areas of small-scale workshops—the showcase highlights four projects supported by FFF Tokyo’s 2025 incubation program at KOCA. These works reflect a dynamic intersection of manufacturing, daily life, and local knowledge, as designers, architects, artists, and engineers explore new material possibilities and production processes.

Featuring creative teams Makoto Orisaki, monon, YOCHIYA, and Yuta Shimoda, the exhibition emphasizes experimentation over mass production. Through materials such as cardboard, membrane fabrics, copper, and resin, the projects examine how digital fabrication, alternative processing, and geometric exploration can redefine making itself. Visitors are invited to encounter fresh perspectives on craft and innovation emerging from South Tokyo’s vibrant community.
