Where to Order Good Steak in Metro Manila for Your Last-Minute V-Day Meal Preps
Got no plans for Valentine’s Day? Fret not. Nobody wants to be stuck in traffic while attempting to score a table at a restaurant at the last minute. We also do not recommend jostling against the crowd on a Monday for a V Day takeout. To save you from the rush hour and a potential infection, why not order a slab of red meat and whip up your dinner instead? Admit it, cooking for your partner shows effort in ways no fancy dinner reservation can topple.
For carnivores who are observing Valentine’s Day but have nowhere to go, here are retailers around Metro Manila that can deliver juicy steak to your doorstep.
Chingolo Deli
Owned by brothers-in-law Erwan Heussaff and Nico Bolzico, Chingolo Deli offers a range of organic and antibiotic-free meat, as well as wines and deli products. It carries the Bolzico beef brand, Nico’s version of grass-fed Angus beef from Argentina and Brazil that combines the right amount of fat, marbling, and flavor. One of their bestsellers is the Argentine ribeye, a cut from the beef rib known for having a tender texture. It goes for P495 per 250 grams. Do not forget to add barbeque sauce (P230), garlic aioli (P249), or our personal favorite, homemade chimichurri (P330) to your cart!
Chingolo Deli delivers within select areas in Metro Manila, with fees starting at P95. Cut-off for same-day delivery is 2PM. Pick-up is also available everyday from 10 AM to 5 PM.
Solo Meat Group
If you are looking for Halal-certified steak, check out locally owned Solo Meat Group. They offer grass- and grain-fed Australian beef and lamb that meet the Halal standards in food preparation. Their products are vacuum-packed to ensure that the meat’s natural juices and flavors are intact. Solo Meat Groups requires a one-day lead time on orders, with deliveries done every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
STEAK.ph
Another trusted source of raw meat within the metro, STEAK.ph carries USDA-certified angus steak, which is known for its consistency, marbling, and succulent taste. They promise not just to “meat your expectations, but to exceed them,” and to offer clients “a cut above the rest.” While we agree those are funny, we do not think they are joking given their numerous positive reviews from loyal customers, including well-known names such as Karen Davila and James Deakin.
STEAK.ph offers same-day delivery, including weekends and holidays. They do not have a website but they accept online orders via their Facebook page. You can also text them (0917-56-78325) or call their hotline (02-798-78325).
Bacchus Epicerie
Catering to discerning gourmets, Bacchus Epicerie is a treasure trove of fine ingredients sourced from the world over and carefully stocked and displayed in their stores in Mandaluyong and Alabang. Their meat selections include USDA Choice Beef Ribeye Steak (P740; 300 grams), USDA Prime Ribeye Steak (P960; 300 grams), USDA Super Prime Ribeye Steak (P1,050; 300 grams), and USDA Prime Grade Ribeye Tomahawk (P3,870 weight unavailable). They also have a range of condiments, chocolates and jams, cheeses, and biscuits and crackers to go with your order. But before expanding their offerings to premium cooking ingredients, Bacchus Epicerie primarily sold wine sourced from the best producers in France, Italy, and Argentina. Now, you can enjoy a bevy of wines catalogued by type, country, year, brand, and grape varietal. Be sure to check out a bottle or two when you order your meat from Bacchus Epicerie.
Wagyu Philippines
Known for having a high degree of marbling that renders a tender texture and buttery taste, wagyu is one of the most sought-after and expensive meats in the world. In the Philippines, Wagyu Philippines is considered one of the leading retailers of this prized meat from Japan. They have A5 wagyu, A5-Grade tenderloin, as well as A3-, A4-, and A5-Grade wagyu sirloin and ribeye cuts.
