Delish News: New Restaurants, Menus, and Pop-ups in Manila in Feb. 2023

MNL Delish Roundup HEADER

There has never been a better time to try something new than the month of February. You just got done with the New Year laziness, you found your rhythm, and knew what resolutions to prioritize. It’s time to, in the immortal words of Donna and Tom, treat yourself. Never mind that it’s the “month of love.” Whether you celebrate with family, friends or those too complicated to explain, the important thing is that you put quality time (and quality food) with those who matter.

Let us take you around Metro Manila, and probably out of it, and show you the abundance of dining choices at your disposal this February.

Le Grand Casino Du Vin @ Grand Hyatt Manila

Grand Hyatt’s The Cellar will play host to a bit more fun and games than usual with Le Grand Casino Du Vin. For the whole of February, guests are treated to a four-course meal, a glass of red or white wine, and playing chips. And the powers that be at The Cellar have some prizes at the ready for the night’s winners.

This rare combination of gaming and dining is all yours at P3,000 nett per person. New experience or not, this is quite an unmissable night of enjoyment for everyone.

Location: The Cellar, Grand Hyatt Manila, 8th Avenue, corner, 35th St, Taguig

San Valentino @ Okada Manila

If you have a special someone, Okada Manila’s La Piazza has a sumptuous Italian regalement at the ready for Valentine’s. San Valentino’s curated menu (P7,000 nett, dinner for two) will consist of Stracciatella cheese enriched with chanterelles, morels, shimeji, and shiitake as a start. Then, you can choose among Lobster Ravioli, Chilean seabass, and Veal sorrentino for the main course. You’ll end your meal with an array of confectionaries and Valentine-themed pastries.

This offer is on the table for three nights only, from Feb. 13 to 15, so if you have plans to make and schedules to accommodate, now’s the time to do it.

Location: La Piazza, Okada Manila, New Seaside Drive, Entertainment City, Parañaque

From Old Manila With Love @ The Peninsula

Chef Domenico Nicolino and his team will be serving a five-course dinner for The Peninsula’s Valentine’s celebration, From Old Manila With Love. Your entrée can either be a US Beef Tournedos Rossini or seared European seabass, with a trio of amuse bouche beforehand to whet your appetite. Raspberry vacherin will conclude the set, providing a sweet treat to send you into the night.

Your options are a course-only set (P6,000 net) or a wine pairing (P9,000 net). Your night, your choice at The Peninsula.

Location: Old Manila, The Peninsula, cor. Ayala and Makati Avenues, 1226 Makati

Valentine’s Day Degustation @ Antonio’s Tagaytay

A one-night only Valentine’s affair in chilly Tagaytay that is the perfect excuse to get out of town and into the nourishing arms of Antonio’s staff. Set menus are available if you don’t want the fuss, with USDA Beef Wellington (P17,400), Chilean Sea Bass (P8,700), Lamb Loin (P8,700), and dry-aged ribeye (P19,900). A host of delectables, from coastal amuse bouche to a Don Papa-based cocktail, will round out a memorable evening outside the city.

Friday Chill Out @ Nobu Manila

We’re looking at Nobu Manila’s jaw-dropping menu being available for half the price, and thinking that this cannot be true. From Feb. 10 until March, the premier Japanese joint of the City of Dreams will be making their extensive menu of fusion Japanese cuisine available at a 50% discount. There are certain limitations, but to get their Nobu tacos, kushiyaki, and soft-shell crab sushi at such a steal is an offer that can’t, shouldn’t, and won’t be allowed to pass.

Meanwhile, while you’re getting your fill of excellent Japanese fare, a live DJ will be manning the deck to provide the beats to go along with your bites.

Location: Nobu Restaurant, Level 1 Nobu North Tower, Asean Ave., City of Dreams, 1701 Parañaque Contact details: (02) 8691 2882 / [email protected]

Under the Stars @ Novotel Araneta City

Novotel’s approach for their Under the Stars stayed with the tried-and-true methods known among the Filipino romantics: dinner under the stars, and a dish called “Got to Believe in Magic.” Holding it in the Versailles Garden, there’s not a lot about this dinner that could go wrong. They have at the ready wagyu beef carpaccio and sinuglaw for appetizers, seared Atlantic cod and braised beef as entrées, and peach melba mouse and petit fours to finish the course.

The dinner covers two persons (P5,988), and so that you have a souvenir for your night, there is a roving photographer to take pictures of you with the beautiful gardens as the backdrop.

Location: The 6th Manila, Novotel Araneta City, General Aguinaldo Avenue, Araneta Center 0810 Quezon City
