Singapore’s live storytelling competition, What’s Your Story Slam (WYSS), is coming to the Philippines for the first time this Aug. 8, following its sold-out shows in the Lion City.
The event will be held at Commune in Makati City from 8 to 10 PM, highlighting talented storytellers from around the country. It will feature eight true tales to be told by the contestants through performative storytelling in five minutes.
WYSS founder Anna Ong shared in a press release that this marks WYSS’ first show outside of its home. “Our goal is to encourage people to share their story and build a sense of community where everyone is seen and heard. As my homecoming and its first international pop-up, we invite audiences to celebrate the diversity and richness of human experiences,” she added.
Tickets to the show are now available via Eventbrite and are worth P1,444 each. You can visit Ong’s website or follow WYSS on Instagram and Facebook to know more about the competition. To sign up as a contestant, go here.
WYSS started in Singapore in 2019 with the goal of creating an engaging experience for storytellers and audiences alike.
