Fully Vaxxed Travellers from Australia, Switzerland May Now Enter Singapore Without Quarantine

Travellers from Australia and Switzerland can now enter Singapore without quarantine as long as they have received two doses of vaccine against COVID-19 as part of the city-state’s efforts to gradually open its borders.

Under the vaccinated travel lane (VTL), fully vaccinated individuals coming from the two countries only need to present negative COVID-19 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test results taken 48 hours before their departure and once they arrive at Changi Airport, the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) said on Oct. 26. Unvaccinated children aged 12 years and below may travel under the VTL if they are accompanied by an individual who meets all the requirements.

The extended VTL scheme will take effect on Nov. 8. It is part of the government’s “cautious and step-by-step effort to revive air travel and reclaim and rebuild Singapore’s status as an international aviation hub with global connectivity,” CAAS said.

As with the city-state’s existing agreement with other governments under the VTL, travellers must have remained in Australia, Switzerland, or other VTL countries in the last 14 consecutive days prior to departure to Singapore.

The other countries covered by the VTL are Brunei, Germany, Canada, Denmark, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
