SG Arrival Card to Be Permanent for Disease Control
The SG Arrival Card will be a permanent requirement for travellers arriving in Singapore to guard both locals and tourists against infectious diseases, according to Minister for Health Ong Ye Kung.
Implemented during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, the SG Arrival Card is an electronic admission document that asks travellers to declare if they have cough, fever, and other symptoms related to yellow fever, ebola, and more.
“All travellers are required to submit a health declaration because all travellers are subject to the risk of infectious diseases,” Ong was quoted in a The Straits Times report.
Ong added that tourists who are suspected of being infected with a contagious disease may be referred for medical assessment and isolation.
The SG Arrival Card is a health declaration requirement that must be filled up and submitted via the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority’s (ICA) official website or on the MyICA mobile app at least three days prior to arrival.
As of writing, only Singaporean citizens, permanent residents, and long-term pass holders are exempted from submitting the arrival card.
