Second Tranche of CDC Voucher Scheme Goes Digital

Earlier this year, the Community Development Council (CDC) in collaboration with the Singapore government rolled out an initiative to distribute vouchers for low-income families and businesses affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

As part of the Budget 2021, Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat announced that the CDC will be giving away the second tranche of vouchers worth S$100 for each household in digital format to support the Smart Nation initiative.

This is also their way to “thank Singaporeans for their sense of solidarity and to support local businesses at HDB estates/heartland enterprises and hawkers.”

Last Oct. 18, 2021, the CDC announced that hawkers and heartland merchants can now register for the digital CDC voucher scheme so residents can shop in their stores.

Upon registration, the official CDC ambassadors will ask for the merchant or hawker business contact information including bank account details and Unique Entity Number (UEN) used in the business. To avoid being deceived, authorised personnel or CDC digital ambassadors shall wear the official uniform and button badge, CDC lanyard, and ID tag with their name.
