Singapore’s Passport Claims Top Spot as the World’s Most Powerful in 2023

Isn't it exciting when you can travel to countries on your must-visit list without needing to secure a visa? Well, if you have a powerful passport, you can do just that! According to the recent Henley Passport Index, Singapore's passport is the most powerful in the world, allowing visa-free access to 192 destinations.

The Henley Passport Index uses data from the International Air Transport Authority (IATA) to rank passports based on the number of destinations their holders can access without a prior visa. This year's ranking took into account 199 passports and 227 travel destinations. Singapore reclaimed the top spot in 2023, after placing second in 2022. It previously held the top ranking in 2021.

Here are the top 10 passports in the Henley Passport Index, with multiple countries tying for second and third place:

2 – Germany, Italy, Spain

3 – Austria, Finland, France, Japan, Luxembourg, South Korea, Sweden

4 – Denmark, Ireland, Netherlands, United Kingdom

5 – Belgium, Czech Republic, Malta, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Switzerland

6 – Australia, Hungary, Poland

7 – Canada, Greece

8 – Lithuania, United States

9 – Latvia, Slovakia, Slovenia

10 – Estonia, Iceland
