Step Into the World of the Nyonya – Cultural Workshop & Dress-Up

Celebrate the vibrant legacy of Peranakan culture at Step Into the World of the Nyonya – Cultural Workshop & Dress-Up, happening on July 19, 2025, at the Chinatown Business Association, Singapore. This immersive 90-minute experience invites participants to explore the rich traditions of the Nyonya heritage through storytelling, hands-on activities, and dress-up.

Guided in both English and Chinese, the workshop begins with a cultural sharing session about the history and customs of the Peranakan community. Participants will get the chance to try on elegant traditional Nyonya attire, including kebayas for women and batik pieces for men. Learn how to style authentic Nyonya hairstyles and explore the historic charm of Smith Street, where you can take photos in full traditional dress.

Each attendee also receives a handcrafted Nyonya-style batik pouch as a keepsake. Sessions are available at 11 AM and 1:30 PM, with tickets priced at S$38 per person. Due to limited seating, advance booking is essential, and tickets are required for both adults and children.

The registration point is at 9A Smith Street, a short walk from Chinatown Station (NE4/DT19) and Maxwell Station (TE18).
