Under One Atap: The Spirit - Singapore's Lesser-known Arts & Culture

Under One Atap: The Spirit invites participants to explore Singapore’s lesser-known arts and cultural practices in an evening of discovery, performance, and hands-on experiences. Taking place on Feb. 13, 2026, from 7 PM to 10 PM at City Sprouts West Coast, this third session of the series shines a light on the hidden cultural undercurrent that shapes the nation’s heritage. Attendees will gain insight into traditional arts that are often overlooked, uncovering the stories, movements, and adaptations that continue to connect communities across generations.

The event features live demonstrations of traditional puppetry, such as Wayang Kulit, captivating guzheng performances by Malay full-time player Faizal Salim, and dynamic Kuda Kepang presentations led by Wandi from Kesenian Tedja Timur (KTT). Community artist Jodi Thiele will also share her practice informed by traditional puppetry, providing participants with an intimate look at the creative processes behind these artforms.

Beyond performances, guests can engage in hands-on activities and conversations with practitioners, gaining a deeper understanding of Singapore’s cultural tapestry. Locally sourced snacks from home-based businesses will be available, fostering a warm, inclusive environment where arts, community, and culture intersect.
