1. Singapore Comic Con 2022

Singapore Comic Con is finally around the corner after a two-year absence. Everything you have come to expect at the Lion City’s biggest pop culture event will be there: cosplayers, collectibles, comic books, computer games, and so much more. Come prepared to geek out, or you will miss out.

2. BookFest@Singapore 2022 

Another big event that took a years-long break, BookFest is back this year. This 10-day affair is all about literature. With 130,000 square feet of activity area full of books, activities, stationaries, gifts and more, this is a fair for book lovers, art enjoyers, and curious cats to enjoy.

Let Walt Whitman surmise the experience of being with your literary friends:

3. Singapore Food Expo 2022

The Singapore Food Expo will have more than 80 F&B exhibitors ready to indulge you in this festive season. There is everything for everyone in the event, whether you are a lover of skewer dishes, pastries or frozen food package to take home. The event caters to B2C and B2B markets, so there will be plenty of business connections to be made in the activity area.

Admission is free, by the way. Bring your friends and family for a day of good food, because we could use more of that.

4. The Nutcracker 2022

The Singapore Ballet is treating everyone to a rendition of The Nutcracker. The Metropolitan Festival Orchestra will perform live, elevating the experience to a cosmic level worthy of such a storied act. With classical ballet on display and Tchaikovsky’s timeless tunes on full tilt, this is a spectacular Christmas event you will not want to miss.

5. Carnival by the Straits 2022

Billed as “A Dose of Sun, A Booster of Fun,” the Carnival by the Straits is the seaside year-ender you have always wanted. The event is open for the whole family, with activities such as banana boat rides, water trampolines and ski tubing promising a whole day of fun. If you have a regatta outfit that you have been waiting to showcase, there is a Fancy Dress Competition with your name on it.

6. Art of Strength Carnival: SG’s First NFT Art x Fitness Scavenger Hunt

The Art of Strength Carnival happening this weekend has a cool lineup of prizes for participants, but that is not the highlight of the event. It will be hosting Singapore’s first NFT art/fitness scavenger hunt, which will put the contestants’ physical and technological mettle to the test. If you are up to some challenging fun or want to learn about NFTs, this is the place to be.

The event is free for everyone, where there will be food, performance and (digital) art to enjoy.

7. Bark Holiday 2022

Any dog-related event is a must-attend. The Bark Holiday, hosted by ad agency and certified dog lovers at Creative for More, is a quaint get-together where you can buy locally made stuff for you and your pets. The highlight of the event are the dogs you will meet. We all know that the more dogs you know, the better your life becomes.

8. East Meets West: Art by Tan Kai Huat

The works of Tan Kai Huat, a Singaporean oil painting master, will be on display at the Visual Arts Centre for a limited time. His east-meets-west style is a craft mastered for over 50 years, creating works of pop art, cityscapes, portraits, calligraphy, and many more.

Admission is free for all. A master’s work is not to be missed.

9. ‘The Change’

What is the best medium to explain climate change? It is the conundrum at the heart of “The Change,” a play inspired by the most recent Cop27 conference in Egypt.
