All-inclusive ‘Miss Krungthong 2022’ Beauty Pageant in Thailand Announces Top 20 Finalists

The preliminary qualifying round of Bangkok’s all-inclusive plus-size beauty competition – Miss Krungthong 2022 – was held on Oct. 27 at the Krungthong Plaza shopping mall.

The judges selected the top 20 finalists out of 50 candidates based on how they showcased real confidence and great personality over beauty. The panel of judges included Miss Universe Thailand 2006 Charm O. Sathanon, Miss Universe Thailand 2020 Pornfa Punika Kulsunthornrat, Miss Grand Thailand 2014 Parapadsorn Vorrasirinda, and Thai stylist Thatchai Rattanodom.

This is Thailand’s first plus-size pageant open to all, regardless of gender as long as they meet the following requirements. To qualify for Miss Krungthong 2022, candidates must be Thai and between the ages of 18-35, as per a report of The Thaiger on Nov.5. Candidates should be at least 167 centimetres tall and weigh no less than 70 kilograms. They must also have a BMI of 70 or above.

The final round is scheduled to take place tomorrow, Nov. 8 at the Aksra Rangnam Theater in Bangkok. The candidate who wins the crown may bring home THB50,000 and a one-year contract with Krungthong Mall.

Khrungtong Plaza is a four-storey shopping mall and is home to wholesale and retail fashion apparel for plus-size men and women, ranging from XL to 8XL.

The shopping mall is located on Phetchaburi Road, Thanon Phayathai, Ratchathewi, Bangkok.
