Finland’s Marimekko to Open New Coffee Shop in Chiang Mai by End of 2023
After the success of its pop-up store at Central Embassy in Bangkok, Finnish lifestyle brand Marimekko announced it is launching a new café in Thailand.
Dubbed Marimekko Kafé, the coffee shop will open at Central Festival Chiang Mai at the end of 2023.
“The opening of the Marimekko pop-up café at Central Embassy has received a positive response, and introducing cafes alongside Marimekko shops has helped increase brand recognition, expanded our customer base, and is stimulating sales of other product categories,” Tanachira Group CEO Tanapong Chirapanidchakul said.
The soon-to-open café will follow the concept “Comfort Food, Clean & True With Essential Ingredients,” which will serve as a place for “young people, women, and netizens” to satiate their hankering for Marimekko products.
Guests can look forward to caffeinated drinks, cookies, cakes, and lifestyle items such as umbrellas, socks, and bags.
Tanapong shared that Marimekko will also partner with a European premium dining restaurant chain. The specific details about this collaboration have yet to be disclosed.
