Tourist Police ‘I Lert U’ App Provides 24/7 Assistance to International Visitors
As Thailand continues to open its borders, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) encourages international visitors to download the Tourist Police “I Lert U” app so they can have a quick and easy access to the police if ever they need assistance.
“The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) would like to inform tourists they can download the ‘Tourist Police I Lert U’ mobile application to enjoy peace of mind throughout their travels in Thailand,” the TAT said in a news release earlier this month.
The mobile application is available for download for free on the App Store (iOS) and on Google Play (Android). It supports two languages — English and Thai — and is connected to the Tourist Police 1155 Emergency Response Center. For further assistance, the response centre also has interpreters and translators ready for other languages.
In case of any incident, tourists can take photos and upload them in the app along with the necessary details. The Tourist Police will then dispatch officers to the scene to provide the needed assistance.
The Tourist Police, which is a division of the Royal Thai Police that’s dedicated to the well-being of tourists, has over 1,900 officers and is available 24/7.
