Hong Kong’s homegrown matcha brand Matchali is opening a new café in the heart of Central, with its latest outpost set to launch on Dec. 24, 2025 at Shop 2, 12-14 Lyndhurst Terrace. The new store brings their ceremonial-grade matcha to another corner of the city, positioned as a calm spot for everyday ritual and wellness amid Central’s rush.

Designed by Brash Atelier, the interiors echo Matchali’s Moon Street look with clean lines, natural wood, tile, and stone. Eight bar seats and an outdoor bench provide cozy perches for solo visits, quick breaks, and casual catchups, offering a small pocket of stillness just off the busy streetscape.

The menu combines Matchali signatures with Lyndhurst-exclusive items. New highlights include the Banana Bread Matcha Latte (HK$63), blending ceremonial-grade matcha with ripe banana and milk for a naturally sweet, creamy drink, and the Spanish Matcha Latte (from HK$58), which layers matcha with condensed milk for a rich, velvety cup. Light bites such as Matcha Ricotta Strawberry Toast (HK$78) and the Matcha Yogurt Granola Bowl (HK$88) round out the café-style offering.

A festive lineup (from HK$58) brings seasonal flavors, featuring White Chocolate Matcha Latte, Gingerbread Latte, Peppermint Matcha Latte, and the new Apple Pie Matcha Latte, a warming mix of spiced apple, milk, matcha, and cinnamon.

Savory staples like Soft Boiled Egg & Avocado Toast, Kitsune Udon, and Green Tea Soba Salad ensure the full Matchali experience is available at the new site.

For those building an at-home ritual, the store also carries matcha and hojicha powders plus gift-ready tea sets. The Matcha Set (HK$748) includes a chawan, chashaku, whisk, and a tin of Japanese ceremonial-grade matcha from Uji, Kyoto, while the Matchali x Laven Chawan (HK$680), handcrafted by Hong Kong ceramic artist Laven, adds a lightweight, spouted bowl with Matchali’s signature pattern.

The Lyndhurst Terrace opening continues Matchali’s focus on wellness, ritual, and community, inviting guests to pause at the bar, sit outside with a latte, or grab a cup to go.
