Sophia Loren House Opens in Wan Chai: Neapolitan Dining & Entertainment

Wan Chai's beloved Woo Cheong Pawn Shop is getting a new face with the opening of Sophia Loren House, a new four-storey one-stop dining and entertainment destination for Neapolitan cuisine and film lovers.

Scheduled for a grand opening in mid-April, the new restaurant is built as an homage to legendary Italian actress Sophia Loren under the actress’ namesake brand, with the aim of bringing the spirit of “la dolce vita” to Hong Kong.

The revamped space will house four dining and entertainment concepts. One being the Sophia Loren Pizzeria, offering authentic Neapolitan pizzas. There’s also the Casa Sophia Loren, serving sophisticated Italian seafood fares with an open kitchen where diners can watch the chefs prepare their dishes.

For those who love music, STAGE offers live performances of ‘70s music, accompanied by a dance floor for an all-night party. For intimate gatherings paired with exquisite cocktails, Pellicola Rooftop brings its guests a majestic view of the colonial tramway and the lively Johnston Road.

The new Sophia Loren House was designed by Italian architect and designer Ivo Maria Redaelli, who was also the mind behind four Sophia Loren restaurants in Italy.
