Veda Launches Veda Café and Bar Under Avni Jhunjhnuwala's Leadership

Veda, Hong Kong’s renowned fine-dining Indian restaurant, is set to unveil its new concept, Veda Café and Bar in Central. Spearheaded by Avni Jhunjhnuwala, this culinary evolution promises a diverse selection of soulful vegetarian dishes inspired by Modern Indian homes globally.

Founded in 2002 by Avni’s mother, Sarika Jhunjhnuwala, Veda has long been a pioneer in the local dining scene. Avni, drawing from her education at the Institute of Culinary Education in New York, introduces a menu rich in nutrient-dense salads, gut-friendly dosas, and protein-packed mains.

Guests at Veda Café and Bar can look forward to dishes such as the Puffed Rice Salad (HK$135), Turmeric and Chickpea Caesar (HK$148), and Roasted Cauliflower and Brussels Sprouts (HK$155). The café’s signature dish, the Dosa, includes various options like the Classic Potato Masala Dosa (HK$130) and Avocado, Feta, Rocket, and Sun-Dried Tomato Dosa (HK$155).

Main courses feature delights like the Yellow Tadka Dhal (HK$158), Roasted Aloo Gobi (HK$178), and Rajma Masala (HK$168). An assortment of snacks and desserts, such as the Paneer Tempura (HK$65) and 70% Valrhona Chocolate Mousse (HK$108), rounds out the menu.

Reflecting on Veda’s legacy, Avni says, “My mother opened Veda in 2002 as Hong Kong’s first fine dining Indian restaurant. I want to bring it back closer to its original roots with updated branding and menu.”
