BaseHall Set to Open Second Location in Jardine House This December
BaseHall, Hong Kong’s one-stop dining destination bringing top F&B establishments together under one roof, is set to soft open a second location in mid-December.
Arriving just in time for Hong Kong’s international reopening, asset manager Alice Stevenson says, “BaseHall 2 is opening at a very exciting time for Hong Kong. With travel restrictions being removed and the pandemic hopefully coming to an end, there is a renewed sense of energy – of optimism and hope in the city.”
“BaseHall 2 underscores that Hong Kong is indeed a global culinary powerhouse, a city rich with history, talent, and endless innovation” she adds.
Designed by Dix Design Studio, BaseHall 2 pays special attention to the unique flow and rhythm of modern dining sensibilities. Inspired by the architecture and design of Asian gastronomic neighbourhoods, the new venue spotlights unique décor such as handmade Chinese tile work and Japanese oak panels, in addition to other upcycled design elements.
The new space provides flexibility to hold a myriad of events, including parties, music events, cooking classes, film screenings, and DJ nights.
Unique features include a vibrant event space created with Test Kitchen Hong Kong, an 18-seat Chef’s Counter, a sustainable drinking water system, low consumption lighting, and a hidden speakeasy concept designed by NCDA, set to launch in 2023. The Central Counter Kiosks will serve late-night Japanese and Korean snacks, where guests can catch the chefs in action. The dice kiosk will also spotlight local chefs celebrated in the Michelin guide.
Vivian Chao, Manager of Operations, says “Our extraordinary local talent are given a platform to tell their unique story, and this is what we strive to share with the world.”
With this new location set to officially open its doors for 2023, BaseHall 2 is expected to bring more brave culinary ideas and events, newfangled experimentation, and championing of the many flavours that Hong Kong has to offer.
