Built in 1935 by Aw Boon Haw, "The King of Tiger Balm," Haw Par Mansion served as the Aw family's private residence, while the now-demolished Tiger Balm Garden was open to the public. The Mansion, preserved since 2001, reflects the grandeur of a wealthy merchant family and is a symbol of Chinese culture in Hong Kong. It boasts Chinese Renaissance architecture, blending Western and Chinese design elements, with beautiful painted glass, gold gilding, and intricate carvings. Despite some dilapidation, it retains its unique charm and can be restored to its former glory, including the ornamental garden.
