Take Your Kids to These 6 Outdoor Parks and Playgrounds in Hong Kong

We know how kids these days almost glorify gadgets as part of their normal playtime, and while we agree that controlled screen time won’t hurt, a time out in the sun where they can interact with other kids is still the best. Here are six outdoor playgrounds in Hong Kong for some fun time with your kids!
Tuen Mun Park

Opened in 2018, the Tuen Mun Park playground has different play zones where kids can let loose and have fun. Its thoughtful facilities have taken into account persons with disabilities, as seen in special areas where wheelchairs are allowed. Two features that stand out are the musical instruments equipment and water area with light effects.
Quarry Bay Park

Those from the east side will enjoy this outdoor playground in Hong Kong located in the Quarry Bay area. It may not be as large in space as other playgrounds, but it has its merits, too. Kids learning how to ride a bike will find the playground’s cushioned cycling paths very useful. This space also provides a lovely view of the harbour, allowing parents to have fun as much as their kids do. The playground is open from 9 AM to 11 PM.
Kowloon Park

We know Tsim Sha Tsui for having numerous dining spots that face the gorgeous view of the Victoria Harbour. But behind its bustling streets lie a spacious playground where kids and families can hang. You can do birdwatching with your little tots as this park is home to 18 bird species. It also has a lake and a spacious aquatic centre that houses pools in different sizes. Other facilities you can find in this outdoor playground in Hong Kong are ornamental mazes, football pitches, and swings.
Jordan Valley Park

If you do not mind going a little far, head over to Jordan Valley Park, a cozy outdoor space complete with two well-equipped playgrounds and manicured gardens. Sitting atop Kwun Tong, this park has a jogging track, car racing circuits, a greenhouse, and botanical gardens. You can access this park any day of the week from 5 AM to 11 PM.
Victoria Park

Spanning 190,000 square meters, this sprawling outdoor playground is one of the largest in Hong Kong. Because of its massive space, Victoria Park has played host to numerous events in the city, including the Lunar New Year Fair and City Forum. Kids and kids-at-heart will enjoy the roller skating rinks, tennis courts, and football pitches, as well as the park’s jogging trails. Its playground is also equipped with slides and climbing bars.
Ma On Shan Park

Located along 12 On Chun Street, this outdoor playground in Hong Kong revels in the scenery of Tolo Harbour and Pat Sin Leng. Kids will enjoy the park’s lush lawn and adventure maze where they can run around. For guardians, the nearby Ma On Shan Plaza shopping centre is a favorite stopover.
