HKYAF x BEA Festival Inspires Sustainable Living With the Arts
The second Beyond Environmental Arts Festival (BEA Festival) successfully concluded on July 9, promoting environmental awareness and sustainable living through the arts. With the theme "Back to Nature," the festival encouraged participants to appreciate the beauty of nature and take action to protect our planet.
Held in partnership with the Bank of East Asia and the Hong Kong Youth Arts Foundation, the festival attracted over 1,800 participants, with the six-day event featuring dedicated sessions for students from 12 schools and weekend activities for the general public.
Senior management of BEA attended the first day of public session, highlighting the bank’s environmental, social, and governance goals and emphasizing the importance of fostering a green corporate culture.
BEA’s Co-Chief Executive, Mr. Adrian Li, expressed gratitude towards staff volunteers and partners who contributed to the festival’s success. Mr. Brian Li, the other Co-Chief Executive of BEA and Chairman of the Bank’s ESG Steering Committee, emphasised the bank’s commitment to environmental protection, sustainability, and corporate social responsibility, with the BEA Festival being one of their flagship community programs.
The festival offered various enjoyable activities, including theatrical and choir performances, creative arts workshops, and dance video screenings. Additionally, attendees admired a collection of nature-themed artworks co-created by local artists, students, and volunteers. Selected works are currently on display at the BEA Tower in Kwun Tong until July 28, with subsequent exhibitions planned as other locations.
