Experience the groundbreaking career of Lee Bul in “Lee Bul: From 1998 to Now,” on view from March 14 to Aug. 9, 2026, at M+, West Gallery, L2. This major survey traces the evolution of one of Asia’s most influential contemporary artists, bringing together significant works from her studio and prominent collections across Asia and beyond.
The exhibition unfolds across three expansive sections. Visitors are first immersed in large-scale architectural installations from the “Mon grand récit” series, reflecting on modernist ideals and the aesthetics of failed utopias, alongside two-dimensional works from the “Untitled (Willing To Be Vulnerable—Velvet)” and “Perdu” series.
The second section revisits Lee’s celebrated “Cyborg” and “Anagram” series from the late 1990s and early 2000s, exploring gender, beauty, and technology through a lens shaped by critical theory and science fiction. The final gallery evokes the artist’s studio, presenting drawings, sketches, and maquettes that reveal her creative process.
Debuting at the Leeum Museum of Art in Seoul before arriving at M+, the exhibition will continue its international tour, accompanied by a comprehensive monograph co-published with Thames & Hudson.

Asia Society Hong Kong Center presents “Hung Hsien: Between Worlds” from March 25 to June 21 at the Chantal Miller Gallery, marking the first exhibition in the “Celebration of Ink” series. The exhibition focuses on 92-year-oldHung Hsien (洪嫻, Margaret Chang), a modern ink art pioneer whose career spans more than seven decades.
Hung Hsien developed a personal ink painting language that bridges traditional Chinese techniques and Western abstract art. Influenced by classical ink masters as well as modernist movements encountered during her studies in the United States, her works are characterized by fluid brushwork, abstract composition, and expressive use of color.
The exhibition sheds light on Hung’s contributions to global modernism, positioning her work within a broader art historical context that connects East and West. By examining her artistic evolution, the show reveals how Hung challenged conventions while preserving the spirit of ink painting.
Guest curated by Dr. Tiffany Wai-ying Beres, in consultation with Dr. Einor Cervone, the exhibition is co-organized by Asia Society Hong Kong Center and Asia Society Texas, with support from multiple cultural foundations. “Hung Hsien: Between Worlds” offers audiences an opportunity to engage with an artist whose work exists between cultures, traditions, and artistic worlds.
