The Asian debut of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs de Paris’ most comprehensive collection of historical French fashion is coming to the Hong Kong Palace Museum. From June 26 to October 14, 2024, visitors can explore over 300 stunning pieces of French costume, jewellery, and accessories from the late 18th to the early 20th centuries. Most of these pieces are being exhibited in Asia for the first time, and some have never been seen outside of Paris or France.
This exhibition offers a unique opportunity to see France’s national fashion collection from the prestigious museum and delve into the evolution of French fashion over the centuries. The collection also explores the intricate connection between body and fashion, providing insight into how fashion has shaped and been shaped by societal changes.
