World City Championship Debuts in Hong Kong with Golf Legends on Mar 23 26 2

Hong Kong golf fans revel! The highly anticipated World City Championship presented by Hong Kong Golf Club will debut in Fanling, New Territories from Mar. 23 to 26, inviting international golfers to compete in the US$1 million tournament.

The World City Championship will be inviting British golf legend Ian Poulter and Sweden’s Henrik Stenson as confirmed headliners at the Hong Kong Golf Club, alongside many of Hong Kong’s top golfers including pro Taichi Kho.

“I am incredibly excited about playing the WCC. As a Hong Kong golfer, to be playing as a pro on my home course and in front of home galleries is something that I have dreamed about. I hope to see as many fans as possible over the tournament,” said Taichi Kho.

Hong Kong Golf Club events have built a reputation in recent decades, welcoming local public and tourists from Asia and beyond, with over 49,000 spectators attending the 60th Hong Kong Open in 2018.

“After a three-year hiatus, we are delighted to be hosting the WCC and to be partnering with the Asian Tour in bringing such an important new event to Hong Kong. It is the first of three top international tournaments we will host at the Club this season, and we look forward to welcoming visitors from around the world and Hong Kong to Fanling throughout 2023,” said Hong Kong Golf Club Captain Andy Kwok.

The World City Championship is free for entry across the tournament week. Head here online to register for tickets.

The Hong Kong Golf Club is inviting local schools and community organizations at the event to offer Hong Kongers an opportunity to learn more about golf and experience the tournament play.

The tournament spectator village will host a wealth of family activities and entertainment, including golf clinics, live music concerts, international food pop-ups, and a STEAM kids and family area.
