Negroni Week 2024 Kicks Off at Honky Tonks Tavern
Honky Tonks Tavern set Negroni Week ablaze on September 16, 2024, celebrating the Campari annual event's 12th anniversary with an unforgettable opening party at its cozy venue.
The Beat Asia indulged in their special Negroni Week Menu, showcasing three cocktails, designed to delight even the most discerning Negroni aficionados, alongside additional delectable inclusions by guest shifts from ARTIFACT, The Green Door, and Dead Poets.
Available until September 22nd, Honky Tonk's exclusive menu includes the light and fruity "Ooh, Stunning," the sweet-bitter "New Jersey Turnpike," and the standout "Mangito," a delightful concoction with mango-infused gin.
Cheers to a good cause, as 10% of the profits support The New Normal Charity, aiding mental health services in Hong Kong.
Top guest bartenders Nishant Vargas (ARTIFACT), Crystel Ramos (Green Door), and Teo Guibbaud (Dead Poets), shook things up with an additional menu of their own Negroni-inspired cocktails.
Nishant channeled his inner Deadpool, Crystel transformed into Elle Woods from Legally Blonde, sporting a blonde wig and pink ensemble. Meanwhile, Teo dressed as Neo from The Matrix, rocking sleek sunglasses and all-black attire.
From 7pm onwards, Nishant wowed us with his Orange and Chocolate Negroni, blending Campari, white chocolate, Habanero, and orange juice for a spicy-sweet twist. At 8pm, Crystel introduced the refreshing Cheylene, starring Bulldog Gin, strawberry-infused vermouth, and a briny olive-strawberry garnish. Ending on a high note was the Matrixe served by Teo, a daring mix of tequila, Campari, and pale ale.
Adding to the playful atmosphere was Honky’s fun 'Movie-Inspired' food menu, curated by More Good, featuring finger-licking goodies like “Are you gonna eat your tots?” tater tots, "Utah Give Me 2!," the Meatball Sub, Big Kahuna Burger, and A Goofy Movie Slice.
Throughout the week, expect fun-filled nights like Shady Acres hosting a Negroni-themed foosball event on Tuesday, September 17th, and Cordis Hong Kong’s Alibi’s special Negroni week event on Wednesday, featuring guest bartender Anthony Luis from Carrots bar in Jakarta, adding an exciting international flair to the festivities.
Thursday, Sept 19th features a special guest shift at Kinsman with Manto from RMK Shochu Bar and a Negroni event at Zuma with Ring Zhao and Simone Rossi.
Spend Friday, September 20th, celebrating Sophia Loren’s 90th birthday at her rooftop bar, surrounded by immersive films, Campari cocktails, and DJ sets.
The week wraps up on Sunday, September 22nd, with a charity session in partnership with More Good and a conversation with Oscar-nominated director Derek Tsang at Soho House.
