The theatre show “Life of Pi"based on the philosophical novel by Yann Martel, is now bobbing into the Hong Kong art scene in June!
Experience enchanting and immersive theatre that blurs fantasy with reality at West Kowloon Cultural District's Xiqu Centre, from June 26 to 29, 2025.
The Booker Prize awarded novel was adapted into an Oscar-winning film by Ang Lee and then picked up by a UK theatrical production in 2019, before becoming a hit on London's West End. The original theater show has gone on to win five Olivier Awards and three Tony Awards for Best New Play, Best Choreography, and Best Lighting Design.

For those unfamiliar with the story, the plot of Life of Pi follows a sixteen-year-old Indian boy named Pi who is shipwrecked along with his family and has to spend hundreds of days on a lifeboat with only a Bengal tiger as a companion.
A highlight of the show is its immersive production elements, including advanced puppetry that brings various animals to life, such as the Bengal tiger Richard Parker, hyenas, orangutans, and zebras.
