Where to Buy a Christmas Tree in Hong Kong (Because It’s Never Too Early to Install One)

Christmas means family reunions, parties left and right, doors and walls decked with store-bought decors, and gifts stacked at the foot of the Christmas tree. But for many of us, these traditions had to take the backseat in 2020 due to the pandemic. This year, however, we’re not letting the Grinch that is COVID-19 steal Christmas from us again. To get a headstart on the upcoming holidays’ festive mood, you might want to start installing a Christmas tree as early as now. Whether you’re looking for real or artificial versions, here are our recommended shops where you can buy a Christmas tree in Hong Kong.

Fresh Trees

Anglo Chinese Florist

Based in Central, Anglo Chinese Florist is one of the authorities when it comes to anything about Christmas ornaments. Its Christmas trees have two versions: Douglas fir and noble fir. These fresh evergreens are directly imported from Oregon, United States, and retail for HK$913 to HK$3,908, with height options of two feet to nine feet. You can purchase the fir with or without a stand. Anglo Chinese Florist will also take care of delivering and removing the tree for you for an extra fee, depending on where you are in Hong Kong.

Gift Flowers HK

The best thing about Gift Flowers HK is that they deliver fresh Christmas trees with a complementary stand. Its smallest tree comes in four to five feet, while the tallest one stands at nine feet. Price ranges from HK$1,899 to HK$3,899. If you are from Hong Kong’s metropolitan area, you can even have the tree delivered for free. Gift Flowers HK also sells other Christmas ornaments, so you do not have to go elsewhere for your holiday decorations.

Chun Hing Garden

Christmas gives us an excuse to go overboard at least once a year. With Chun Hing Garden’s 20-foot Christmas tree, you’ll have no problem going over the top (that is if you’re willing to burn HK$46,500). For minimalists, we recommend the shop’s four-foot tree, which we think looks nice when adorned with white ornaments for that Nordic appeal.

Artificial Trees

Ikea

The best thing about artificial Christmas trees is that they are practical. You can buy a decent one and store it carefully until the next holiday season. We found this six-foot tall tree on Ikea that blends well with oversized poinsettia and other embellishments. And for a tree that only costs HK$599 and you can reuse for years to come, we think it is a steal!

Oncor Recycled Trees

Oncor has been manufacturing artificial evergreens since 1980 and has made its name in the U.S. and Canada. It has also become a popular choice for people looking to buy Christmas trees in Hong Kong at an affordable price. On its website, the store has listed 15 types of Christmas trees that you can choose from, including slim pine trees and glittered arctic trees. It also has the artificial version of noble pine and Douglas fir. Its cheapest tree goes for HK$493 and measures three feet in height.

Indigo Living

Indigo Living’s artificial Christmas trees are not the most affordable you can find, but they sure are one of the sturdiest. The evergreens have handcrafted branches that look exactly like a real pine with their bushy appearance. They can be installed indoors or outdoors and are ready to be decorated with sparks and baubles.
