Gastronomes who are fascinated by different cultures and want to learn about them by trying out new dishes – we’ve got you covered!

Malaysia undoubtedly serves up a melting pot of exotic culinary dishes due to the influence of traditions from neighbouring countries and the influx of foreign communities.

On Feb. 7, the launching ceremony of the Malaysia Culinary Heritage Promotion took place at Tonka Bean Café & Deli in Impiana KLCC Hotel. Guests were treated to a feast featuring Johor cuisines, alongside the performances of traditional Malay dances – Kuda Kepang and Zapin.

This month marks the beginning of the culinary promotion that will run until August, highlighting cross-cultural cuisines from all 13 states of Malaysia.

Debuted on Feb. 7, the Johor region highlighted laksa, a staple of the Malay diet, as part of the seven-month long series of the culinary promotion. This month’s promo will last until Feb. 17 only.

In March, food lovers will enjoy the specialties of Melaka and Negeri Sembilan. In line with the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration, which will take place later in the month of April, the most popular holiday recipes will be featured through the hotel’s Bazaar Ramadhan Jalan Pinang.

Moreover, May will be a month filled with Selangor and Perak dishes inspired by Acehnese and Javanese cuisines. Come June, patrons of the Tonka Bean Café & Deli can indulge in some of Malaysia's most beloved regional specialties from the states of Penang, Kedah, and Perlis.

In July, you can enjoy the bounty of the farming and fishing towns of Pahang, Kelantan, and Terengganu. The promotion will conclude with dishes from the regions of Sabah and Sarawak in East Malaysia, just in time for the nation’s independence month or ”Hari Merdeka” in August.

Those interested can book a reservation for lunch or dinner online, call 03-21471111, or send a message via WhatsApp at +6012-2351213. Everyone is encouraged to wear smart casual attire.
