Aklan Gov't Reimposes Negative RT-PCR Test For Tourists in Boracay
Aklan Governor Florencio "Joeben" Miraflores issued today an executive order on the implementation of guidelines restriction for those who will visit Boracay starting Jan. 9.
In line with the observance of the COVID-19 alert level system, the provincial government of Aklan will again require tourists to present a negative result of the Reverse Transcription-Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) within 72 hours to date of travel. Whether an individual is vaccinated or not, the COVID-19 testing requirement applies to retuning Aklanons, pass-through travelers, and tourists.

According to reports, tourists’ arrival in Boracay last month recorded the highest number of 113, 596 travelers since January 2020. Forty-three percent (49,185) of the tourists came from Metro Manila,72% of whom having traveled by plane.
