Beatrice Luigi Gomez of Cebu City Wins Miss Universe Philippines 2021
Cebu City’s bet Beatrice Luigi Gomez won the Miss Universe Philippines 2021 title during the coronation night in Bohol on Sept. 30, 2021.
Gomez, who succeeded Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo of Iloilo City, bested 27 other candidates who appeared onstage during the live coronation at the Hennan Resort Convention Center. She also won two major awards, Best in Swimsuit and Best in Evening Gown.
The 26-year-old beauty queen will represent the Philippines in the Miss Universe pageant in Eilat, Israel, in December. A known LGBTQ+ advocate, Gomez is the first openly gay Miss Universe representative from the Philippines.
Meanwhile, Taguig’s Katrina Dimaranan bagged Miss Universe Philippines Tourism; Cavite's Victoria Vincent was crowned Miss Universe Philippines Charity; Pangasinan's Maureen Wroblewitz won first runner-up; and Cebu Province's Steffi Rose Aberasturi was 2nd runner-up.
